Revive Ministries is excited to mention this milestone, but it is not about me. I have been blessed to talk and connect to a wide variety of people around the world. Why do I do this, you may ask (100 episodes in just over a year of podcasting for the first time)? Well, I was and am annoyingly consistent. But more importantly, I want to remember.
I want to remember the nights I felt my life was over. I want to remember the times I felt invisible. I want to remember feeling like had no value. I want to remember feeling like a huge burden to everyone around me. I want to remember feeling like I never belonged. I want to remember when I tried to end it all. I want to remember because it has been my healing to simply help. Revive Ministries is about hope and providing that safe place for those feeling like I have. Revive Ministries also hopes to not only inspire hope but remember it.
We as human beings have an amazing ability to forget. Remembering means to continue those conversations. Stigma is a big word that looks different for each one of us. However, a problem that has carried on for so many years of fear and shame has no quick fix. Yes, it can be messy, but as I said from the beginning, it's not about me--it's about each one of us listening and sharing.
Why do we care about any of these sensitive topics? Because of the people and families attached to them. We care because, as I coined earlier, we can't afford not to--and why is that? We are not islands; pain, loss, fear, and shame are things that uniquely pass all boundaries and cultures, and (unfortunately) it is relatable.
Revive Ministries plans to move forward because our precious moments in life are spent with the ones we love. Life is best lived shared while remembering what we have (versus what we don't), always moving forward. A safe place and a room to heal.
My view of the future of Revive Ministries and its importance.
Life is not just worth maintained but lived, and that is different for all of us.
I will leave you with a quote written by Martin Luther King Jr.
“If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” -Martin Luther King Jr.
We must keep moving forward past 100 episodes and beyond.
Stay Safe and Thanks for listening
